📃 Ingredients of Makroud Louz

The 9 ingredients to make Date and Almond Makrout are:

  • 600g of medium semolina
  • 250g of butter
  • 300g of date paste
  • orange blossom water
  • cinnamon
  • 250g of honey
  • 50g of almond
  • water
  • cooking oil

With these quantities, you will be able to serve date and almond makrout to approximately 20 people. You just have to adapt these measures according to the number of covers.

How to prepare Makroud Louz?

You will have a total of 30 minutes, between the preparation and cooking of makroud louz. Here are the 5 Steps required to prepare this recipe.

Step 1

  • Put in a large salad bowl: the semolina, almonds and butter. Work everything well.

Step 2

  • In another bowl, mix the date paste, cinnamon and orange blossom water and form sausages.

Step 3

  • Take a quantity of the mixture and add a little water and orange blossom water. Mix everything to have a smooth and homogeneous leg.

Step 4

  • Make small rolls, open them in the middle and insert the date paste rolls inside. Seal the opening.

Step 5

  • Cut into diamonds or squares and fry in boiling oil. Brown both sides and plunge into lukewarm honey. Makrout is digested cold, not hot.
